Coins in a Fountain

There’s a beautiful fountain in Cumming City Center. My little cousins—the girls—love to visit it on pretty days, tossing in coins and making wishes. I didn’t throw a coin, but maybe I should have.

I found myself looking down into the water at the scattered coins below, their surfaces shimmering and distorted. My thoughts drifted to the person responsible for collecting them—and what becomes of them afterward. Do they go into a coffer, supporting the local shops? The idea made me curious.

Dreams and goals are a lot like those coins—shiny, enticing, and full of possibility when we toss them into existence. But what happens if we leave them there, untouched? If we never act on them, they become as fleeting as those coins glinting beneath the surface.

Scoop out your coins, dreamers. Invest in yourself. Turn those wishes into something real.
